Business Beats Cancer Glasgow · An evening supporting a shared cause.
GENEROUS SUPPORT CAN CREATE LASTING CONNECTIONS
A wonderful evening. Possibility beyond it.
The donation, hospitality and enjoyment have value in their own right. Thoughtful preparation can help the relationships formed around the table go further.
A business might buy a table to support your work, thank customers or bring its people together. With a clear purpose, it can also help guests meet someone useful, explore a collaboration, make a referral or begin a business conversation worth continuing.
We help table buyers plan for those possibilities. Guests feel considered, hosts know how to bring people together, and promising conversations have a next step.
For your charity, that can strengthen the corporate supporter experience and create more reasons to stay involved.
WHAT HAPPENS AROUND THE TABLE
A little more intention. A much clearer plan.
We work with the business buying the table, alongside your events and fundraising team where agreed.
01
Choose the purpose and the people
Understand why the business has bought the table, what its guests would value and which relationships it wants to build. Agree what a worthwhile return looks like.
02
Prepare the hosts and the introductions
Choose guests thoughtfully. Brief staff and hosts. Explore relevant connections in the wider room where information and introductions can appropriately be shared.
03
Make people feel welcome and included
Help guests participate comfortably. Introduce people with a meaningful reason to meet and use good judgement about when to talk business and when to enjoy the occasion.
04
Give the conversation a future
Record agreed actions, make personal follow-up and help suitable relationships progress. Review commercial opportunities, relationship value and useful learning over an appropriate period.
These are our four pillars in practice: strategic review, preparation, engagement on the day, and follow-up. Each commissioned stage has an agreed scope, responsibility and fee.

WHEN BUSINESS GROWTH CREATES CAPACITY TO GIVE
What if the value kept travelling?
A useful introduction could lead to work months later. A supporter might choose to share some of the resulting profit with your charity, extending its contribution beyond the table purchase or auction donation.
It could also reinvest in its business, people or community. Any further giving is the supporter’s choice.
Illustration only: imagine ten separate businesses each eventually earning £5,000 in net profit from work developed through introductions. Together, that would be £50,000. This is a hypothetical example, not a forecast or a reported result.

WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER
Build support into your corporate table offer.
Choose a model that fits your supporters, event and budget. We agree what is included before you offer it.
01
A consultation included with a table
Offer an agreed consultation to help the buyer explore its purpose, guest priorities and potential returns. Further preparation, hosting or follow-up can be commissioned separately.
02
A briefing for your corporate hosts
Bring table hosts together for practical preparation: understanding their guests, facilitating introductions and making the evening welcoming and purposeful.
03
Support across the four pillars
Offer a more comprehensive service for selected tables or sponsors, with a review, preparation, agreed hosting and follow-up. Availability and responsibilities are agreed in advance.
04
A direct introduction to our team
Introduce interested supporters to The Booking Office so they can commission their own support. Your charity remains informed about the partnership arrangements we agree with you.
Support can be funded by the charity, included within a table or sponsorship package, or purchased separately by the corporate supporter. Fees, scope and customer communication are agreed before delivery.

YOUR QUESTIONS
Keep the occasion true to its purpose.
Will this make our charity dinner feel like a sales event?
The cause, hospitality and enjoyment remain central. We prepare hosts to listen, include guests and make relevant introductions with good judgement. Business conversations should be welcome and natural, with no pressure to buy or participate.
Our supporters buy tables to give something back. Why would they need this?
Their generosity matters in its own right. This support helps them look after guests and develop useful relationships alongside that contribution. It can also help them understand the wider value of their involvement when considering future support.
Can you work with our fundraising and events teams?
Yes. We agree where our specialist contribution fits alongside your existing work, who will communicate with table buyers and how introductions, approvals and follow-up will be managed.
Would you need access to our guest or donor list?
We agree what information is appropriate and necessary. We can begin with the table buyer’s own guests and objectives. Any wider-room research, attendee information or introductions must follow the arrangements and permissions agreed with you. We do not assume access to donor records.
Do supporters have to donate any business profit?
No. Sharing profit from resulting work is an optional possibility. A business can choose whether to contribute further, how much and when. Any giving arrangement would be agreed separately with your charity.
How would we know whether it had worked?
We agree suitable measures for the charity and the table buyer. These may include guest experience, useful introductions, relationships progressed, agreed follow-up and verified business outcomes. Further donations and actual repeat bookings are recorded when they happen, separately from intentions or opportunities.
Can we try this with a small number of tables?
Yes. An initial partnership can focus on a defined group of corporate supporters, with clear scope, fees and review points. We can assess what was useful before discussing wider delivery.
