Sometimes the reason to be in a room is simply to contribute: to share what you have learned, listen to someone else’s story and offer something that might help them on their way.
I was delighted to be invited as one of the keynote speakers at an event for finalists in the Scottish Beauty Idols Awards, hosted by Esteem Life Medical Group. It was a privilege to speak alongside so many incredible human beings, each bringing their own stories, experience and generosity to the day. Francesca joined me for a day with incredible businesswomen sharing experiences, supporting one another and exploring how we stay well, healthy and able to perform at our best through life and business.
My talk was called “How to grow the business you want without losing yourself along the way.” It gave me the opportunity to share some of the principles that underpin The Booking Office, and that matter to Francesca and me as we build the company together.
Purpose comes first
At the core of our business is purpose. For me, that purpose is to help people identify their own unique ambitions and surround themselves with people who will truly support them.
Surround yourself with people who will truly support your ambition—not merely tolerate it.
That belief helped bring The Booking Office into being. It is the purpose Francesca has joined me in delivering, and it influences the relationships we build, the conversations we have and the people we bring together.
Building a company asks a great deal of you. Staying connected to why you are doing it, and to people who care about both your ambition and your wellbeing, matters. Growing the business and looking after the people building it belong in the same conversation.
